Rock The Lake 2025 Partners Up With Kelowna Professional Firefighters Charitable Society

Rock The Lake (RTL) is excited to announce a new partnership with the Kelowna Professional Firefighters Charitable Society (KPFCS) through GSL Group’s Canadian Wildfire Prevention Foundation. GSL Group, which owns and operates Prospera Place and Rock The Lake music festival, recognized the increasing threat that wildfires pose to homes and residents in the Okanagan and found the ideal partner to support in the Kelowna Professional Firefighters Charitable Society.

Rock The Lake, taking place from July 11-13 outside Prospera Place in Kelowna, acknowledges the region’s resilience in facing wildfire challenges and remains committed to supporting the community that has embraced the festival for the past eight years. The festival will donate one dollar from each ticket or pass sold to the cause, and proceeds from limited edition RTL X Kelowna Fire Department merchandise and various on-site festival activities to fire prevention and fire relief efforts. Furthermore, GSL Group has committed to match a $5000 donation if the fundraising efforts reach that amount.

“The Kelowna Professional Firefighters Charitable Society is honoured for the partnership with Rock the Lake and the GSL group”, says Kyle Jacobson, President of the KPFCS. “Our Society has been able to make a direct impact to those who were affected by the McDougall Creek fires and other local disasters.”

The festival narrowly avoided cancellation in 2023 due to wildfires, and in 2024, it had to change its dates to proactively prevent potential fires that peak during late summer. GSL Group staff were directly affected by the wildfires in the region, and with deep roots in the community, it was a natural and very personal fit for GSL Group and Rock The Lake.

“Our mission to ‘build better communities through better connections’ is at the heart of everything we do,” said Michelle Lee, Director of the Canadian Wildfire Prevention Foundation. “Given Kelowna’s significant history with wildfires and recognizing the crucial role KPFCS plays in protecting our home, this partnership through the foundation allows us to bring people together through music at Rock The Lake to directly support these vital local heroes.”

Fans can support this cause and enjoy Rock The Lake this summer by purchasing festival passes and participating in on-site activations, including limited edition merchandise, which will be available soon. More details about the interactive fire department activation, featuring Kelowna Professional Firefighters Charitable Society members at the festival, will also be announced shortly.

First-release 3-Day Festival Passes are still available for $169 plus fees at rtlkelowna.com. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets quickly before prices increase and passes sell out.
